As a photographer, I don’t just see a single image; I see the entire photo series, the story I want to tell. It is exciting to learn more about a story through a sequence of images that unfold one by one. Each image should be able to speak for itself, but together with other photos, it creates a coherent and compelling narrative. A well-crafted photo series takes the viewer on a journey, with each image highlighting a new aspect of the story, evoking emotions, and sparking curiosity. The allure lies in the ability to dive deeper into the subject through this visual storytelling, allowing the viewer to form an emotional connection.
Developing a Photo Series in the PORTRAIT INTENSE CLASS
In the PORTRAIT INTENSE CLASS, I aim to introduce participants to the art of creating a photo series. This is not just about photography itself. During the course, we will have in-depth discussions about our own photography, define our personal goals, and focus on the process of developing a coherent photo series. A key component of the course is location scouting and styling, as these elements are just as important as working with a model. I will show participants how I approach my work, what I pay attention to, and how I effectively use various components of a photo series to create a powerful and emotional narrative.

Exclusivity and Personal Attention
This photography course is intentionally conducted in small groups. It is important to me to spend ample time with each participant, to understand their individual needs and goals, and to provide tailored guidance. This allows me to give focused attention to each photographer involved. The PORTRAIT INTENSE CLASS offers an exclusive experience with a wealth of valuable insights. Each participant should feel comfortable, inspired, and have the opportunity to grow as a photographer. In a small group setting, it is easier to foster an open and creative atmosphere, where everyone can learn from each other’s experiences and perspectives.
What to Expect?
Four days of an intensive photography experience with a maximum of four participants and two models. Engaging conversations, plenty of background information, and valuable tips for your own photography will be provided.
Program for the Portrait Intense Class in Venice
Day 1: From 2:00 PM, we will check into the accommodation (two Airbnb apartments). Once everyone has arrived, we will discuss the program and explore the various locations in the city. The goal is to get an overview of the possibilities and to prepare for the following days.
Day 2: Two photo sessions with the models are scheduled, one in the early morning and one in the late afternoon. The goal for the day is to create a cohesive photo series. During the day, there will be a program for those who want to see more of Venice. We will use this time to share our initial experiences and brainstorm how to further develop our story for the next day.
Day 3: Today, we will have two more photo sessions, one in the early morning and one in the late afternoon. During the day, we will take the opportunity to visit some of the city’s landmarks.
Day 4: Check-out from the apartments is at 10:00 AM. There is a luggage service near the accommodation where you can leave your suitcase for a few euros. For those who are departing later, I will accompany you through the city and show you a few spots that are interesting for photography.
Our Accommodation in Venice
For our stay in Venice, we have chosen two stylish apartments under the Airbnb Plus program: Residenza Procuratie Uno and Residenza Procuratie Due. These two elegant apartments are located in the same building on different floors, offering an ideal combination of privacy and communal living. Both apartments have been recently renovated and are filled with natural light and stylish decor. Thanks to their central location in the lively Cannaregio district, they are easily accessible from the main train station and are close to the major waterbus lines, ensuring excellent connectivity to the city’s attractions.
