For me as a photographer, black and white photography is indispensable. Despite the latest technology that allows images to be presented in full color brilliance and detail, I prefer the monochromatic style.
Developed sometime in the 19th century, this type of photography has survived to this day. Even though no longer in its original analog form, black and white photography has more enthusiasts than ever today. The black and white process is particularly suitable in the artistic field of photography, allowing for a reduction to structures, light, and shadows.
As a photographer, I strive to create time capsules. With a monochrome print, I achieve this without distraction from color. Black and white shots are timeless and ideally suited to be accepted and viewed as a medium by a broad society in the future. Thanks to the deliberate absence of color, perception of a photograph is reduced to the essentials.
