The PORTRAIT INTENSE CLASS in Venice is a multi-day photography experience for photographers who want to develop their portrait photography more consciously and learn to tell stories with pictures.
For several days we work with two models in different places in Venice. It’s not just about photographing strong individual images. Rather, the question at the center is how a coherent picture series is created from light, location, model, mood and idea.
Venice offers a special stage for this. The narrow streets, the changing light, quiet places away from the well-known tourist trails and the unique atmosphere of the city create ideal conditions for creating portraits with depth and narrative power.
WHY VENICE?
Venice is more than a beautiful setting. The city lives on light, structures, shadows, water, old facades and small moments, which often only become visible when you take your time.
Especially away from the highly visited places, exciting possibilities for natural portraits with atmosphere arise. Small alleys, quiet squares, bridges, courtyards and the light in the early morning or later in the afternoon provide ideal conditions for intensive photographic work.
For me, Venice is one of the most inspiring cities in Europe. I always like to come back because the city allows new pictures every time. It is precisely this mixture of familiar and unexpected that makes the Portrait Intense Class particularly valuable.
WHAT AWAITS YOU
During the Portrait Intense Class we consciously take time for the photographic work. We do not photograph at the classic workshop pace, but develop ideas together, look for suitable places and discuss how light, location, styling, model and mood work together.
You will be able to work with two models and pursue different photographic approaches. Depending on the situation, calm portraits, strong individual images or connected image series with a clear visual common thread are created.
In addition to the practical shootings, joint meetings and reflections are also part of the program. We talk about what makes an image stronger, how a series can be built and how you can develop your own work more consciously.
WHO IS THE PORTRAIT INTENSE CLASS SUITABLE FOR?
The Portrait Intense Class is suitable for photographers who have already gained initial experience in portrait photography and now want to go one step further.
You don’t have to be perfect. It is much more important that you are open to dealing with your own photography. Participation is particularly suitable for people who not only want to photograph, but also want to understand how images are created more consciously.
The format is ideal if you are looking for new inspiration, want to refine your visual language and want to work intensively on portrait photography in a small group for several days.
