Four Days of Portrait Photography in the Swiss Alps
The Portrait Photo Camp 2026 takes place in the beautiful Safien Valley, surrounded by untouched nature, quiet mountain landscapes and ever-changing alpine light.
Over the course of four intensive days, we will focus deeply on portrait and people photography. The camp combines practical photo shoots, professional coaching, creative exchange and personal feedback. It is designed for photographers who want to take their work further, develop new ideas and create expressive images in a calm and inspiring environment.
Our home during the camp will be Gasthaus Rathaus, a 500-year-old mountain hotel with plenty of charm, simple comfort and authentic Swiss hospitality. The unique atmosphere of the valley, the surrounding landscape and the peaceful rhythm of the location create the perfect setting for meaningful photographic work.
Goals of the Workshop
During the Portrait Photo Camp, we will focus on:
- Deepening your portrait photography skills with a focus on light, expression and environment
- Working with two models in different settings
- Developing and realising your own image ideas and small visual series
- Creative exchange, feedback and individual coaching
- Finding inspiration through atmosphere, location and collaborative work
- Strengthening your confidence when working with people in front of the camera
- Expanding your photographic comfort zone in a supportive environment
What to Expect
The Portrait Photo Camp offers four days of intensive photography experience in a very small group. With a maximum of four participants and two models, there is enough space for individual coaching, personal feedback and creative development.
You can expect practical shooting sessions, inspiring conversations, useful background information and many hands-on tips for your own photographic work.
The focus is on creating expressive portraits, working with natural light and surroundings, developing ideas and responding creatively to the atmosphere of the location.

The Models
During the Portrait Photo Camp, we will work with two models.
Accommodation in Safien
Our accommodation is Gasthaus Rathaus in the heart of the Safien Valley.
The hotel combines traditional Grisons hospitality with a simple, cosy and authentic atmosphere. Guests can expect a peaceful mountain setting, regional cuisine and personal charm. It is an ideal place for everyone who appreciates nature, quiet surroundings and an honest, down-to-earth atmosphere.
