From June 5 to June 7, 2026, the Portrait Gourmet Class will take place – a three-day workshop that brings together photography, human connection, and enjoyment. It’s about portraits, but just as much about attitude, awareness, and shared experience.
Time to Truly See
Three days can hold a lot when they are not filled, but opened.
In Lugano, we consciously take time – for people, for conversations, for light, and for the quiet moments in between. Photography is allowed to slow down here. And through that, it gains depth.
Working With Familiar Faces
Two of my absolute favorite models will be present during the workshop: Audé and Dayane.
I have known both of them for many years. We have worked together, shared silence, laughed, and observed. This familiarity creates a special space – not only for me, but for everyone taking part.

Both of them are, like me, true connoisseurs. They bring presence, patience, and openness. No rush, no pressure, no performance. This is exactly what makes them so valuable for this class: they allow real encounters – and portraits that don’t feel produced, but allowed to emerge.
“A strong portrait doesn’t need a stage – only attention.”
Gourmet as a Shared Experience
The term Gourmet is meant very literally in this workshop.
Food is an essential part of the Portrait Gourmet Class. In the evenings, we sit together, enjoy good meals, perhaps a glass of wine, let conversations unfold, and consciously reflect on the day.
These shared dinners are not a side program – they are part of the process. They create closeness, trust, and calm. Often, it is during these moments that thoughts arise which quietly flow into the images the next day. Enjoyment becomes an attitude here – not only in seeing, but in the entire experience.

Arriving at Hotel Bigatt
We will be staying at Hotel Bigatt, a small and charming hotel located above Lugano.
Hotel Bigatt is quietly situated, family-run, and offers exactly the atmosphere that suits this workshop: not classic luxury, but warmth, simplicity, and a sense of being at home.
The view over Lugano, the closeness to nature, and the relaxed surroundings help you truly arrive – not only physically, but inwardly as well. A place where mornings begin calmly and evenings naturally draw you back.

What Is Allowed to Emerge
At the end of these three days, images will exist.
But more importantly, something else will have shifted: a more attentive gaze, greater trust in one’s own perception, and a calmer relationship with the people in front of the camera.
The Portrait Gourmet Class from June 5 to June 7, 2026 is not a course to work through.
It is an invitation to experience photography consciously – together, attentively, and with enjoyment.
