A Taste of Light and Soul
The PORTRAIT GOURMET CLASS is a three-day photography course for advanced photographers who wish to deepen their portrait skills while enjoying outstanding culinary experiences. In addition to exploring the quiet, atmospheric corners of Lugano – far from the tourist crowds – we also discover the region’s authentic cuisine: seasonal dishes, fresh produce from the organic garden, and fine local wines.
You’ll be accompanied by two selected models as we create both planned and spontaneous portraits. The focus is on natural light, evocative locations, and a conscious reduction to what truly matters: expression, composition, and atmosphere. Shared culinary experiences complement the creative work, offering moments of inspiration, exchange, and genuine connection.
What to expect
Three days of intensive photography with a maximum of five participants and two models. Evenings are dedicated to fine food, inspiring conversations, and a relaxed atmosphere that fuels creativity beyond photography itself.
Program of the Portrait Gourmet Class in Lugano (subject to change)
Day 1:
From 2:00 p.m., we meet at our accommodation (Hotel Bigatt). Once everyone has arrived, we’ll review the program together and get to know each other in the hotel’s meeting room. The goal is to gain an overview of the photographic possibilities and prepare for the coming two days. If time allows, we’ll take the opportunity to capture our first images around the hotel.
Day 2:
Two photo sessions with the models are planned – one in the early morning and another in the late afternoon. The aim of the day is to develop a cohesive photo series. We’ll also use this time to exchange first impressions and brainstorm ideas on how to continue the photographic story on the following day.
Day 3:
Check-out from the hotel rooms is at 10:00 a.m. We’ll gather once more in the meeting room to review and discuss the past two days. There will also be another chance to take the final photos around the hotel. The Portrait Gourmet Class in Lugano concludes at 3:00 p.m.

Audé and Dayane accompany us as models on this photography journey. They both already have many years of experience in front of the camera. Her personality works on and off the set. You can look forward to two great models.

Accomodation: Hotel Bigatt
During the PORTRAIT GOURMET CLASS, participants stay at Hotel Bigatt – a beautifully restored villa nestled at the foot of Monte San Salvatore, offering stunning views over Lake Lugano. The hotel features 23 individually designed rooms filled with light and character, a serene courtyard, and a pool surrounded by lush greenery. Its in-house restaurant, Locanda dal Bigatt, led by Chef Daniele Giordano, serves regional dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients from the hotel’s organic garden and accompanied by local wines.
Beyond its charm and comfort, the hotel carries a meaningful purpose as a social enterprise that supports people re-entering the workforce. It’s the perfect place to combine photography, inspiration, and culinary delight in an authentic and heartfelt setting.

- Accommodation in one of the hotel rooms. Each participant has a private room with bath/shower.
