Exploring the Swiss Alps in early summer was nothing short of breathtaking. Together with Nadine, we ventured into this majestic landscape, where nature felt raw and untouched. Despite the season, the air was brisk and carried the chill of the lingering snow. We had initially planned to drive up to the mountain pass, but avalanche warnings had closed the road. Instead, we decided to explore the area below, near a stunning dam nestled amidst the towering peaks.

The setting proved to be a perfect alternative. The dam’s rugged architecture contrasted beautifully with the surrounding wilderness, creating a unique backdrop for our shoot. Nadine’s presence brought a warmth to the cold environment, her expressions and movements seamlessly blending with the dramatic scenery. The interplay of light and shadow on the monochrome images highlighted the textures of her coat, her hair, and the surrounding rock, capturing the stark yet harmonious relationship between humanity and nature.

Photographing in such conditions presented its challenges but also brought unexpected rewards. The brisk weather and remote location demanded spontaneity and adaptability, qualities that often lead to the most authentic moments.
