When I photographed Olivia Linz in this small Italian apartment, my goal was not to direct but to observe — quietly, honestly, without intrusion. I worked exclusively with natural daylight, allowing the softness of the light to shape her presence without artificial enhancement. This approach mirrors my vision of portraiture: giving space, both literally and emotionally, to let something real emerge.

In these moments, Olivia wasn’t performing. She was simply present — lost in thought, moving through the space as if I wasn’t there. I asked her to use the room freely and to allow her thoughts to guide her body. I gave almost no instructions, choosing instead to trust her intuition and my eye for composition.

The images, like the one on the balcony (only for registered members) or through the hallway door, carry a cinematic stillness — a sense of someone being witnessed rather than captured. That subtle distance, that calm quietness, is what I seek. And it only becomes possible through a relationship based on trust — where model and photographer meet in a shared openness, allowing something delicate to unfold in front of the lens.
