These black-and-white portraits of Chiara were created in the calm, focused environment of my studio in Zurich. In collaboration with the talented stylist Diana Korqaj, we developed a minimalist yet elegant aesthetic that draws attention entirely to Chiara’s presence and expression.

The lighting in these photographs is intentionally reduced – soft yet deliberate. It falls gently across Chiara’s face and body, shaping the contours with subtle contrast. Light and shadow interact quietly, creating a sense of depth and space while leaving room for interpretation. What stands out is the gentle handling of grayscale tones: they blend seamlessly while still retaining clarity and structure. The light models without dramatizing – it enhances the natural calmness that Chiara brings to the frame.

The mood throughout the series is introspective and quiet. Chiara meets the camera with confident restraint – her gaze is not searching, but inviting. Her poses are simple, almost sculptural, and the compositions are open by design. In this photographic restraint lies great strength: it leaves space for contemplation, for emotion, for nuance.

The aesthetic of this portrait series is defined by a classic elegance, emphasized by the monochrome look. Working in black and white removes distraction and brings attention to textures, body language, and atmosphere. Together with Diana Korqaj, we created a styling that perfectly complements this visual language – timeless, understated, with clean lines and quiet modernity.

These portraits reflect a calm intensity – a visual world where reduction becomes storytelling and every detail matters. They don’t just portray Chiara as a model, but as a person.
