Audé in Monochrome Fashion

A quiet fashion dialogue in black and white, shaped by trust, light, and the presence of Audé.

The portrait session with Audé in 2025 felt less like a planned shoot and more like a continuation of an ongoing conversation. In my Zurich studio, within a small and controlled space, we worked intuitively, allowing moments to unfold rather than forcing them. There is a familiarity between us that removes pressure, creating room for honesty and subtlety. That atmosphere is something I deeply value and always seek to protect.

Audé has a rare quality that continues to fascinate me. She doesn’t perform for the camera; she simply is. Her presence carries a quiet intensity that translates naturally into monochrome imagery, where nothing distracts from expression and form. This is why she has become a muse for me—someone I return to creatively because each collaboration reveals something new, even within restraint.

Working with Audé feels effortless, as if the images already exist before the shutter is released.

The series was created using an intentionally simple setup, relying solely on my favorite Broncolor 120×180 cm softbox. The light was soft, directional, and forgiving, allowing skin tones, textures, and emotions to breathe. Within this reduced framework, we explored different fashion styles, moving fluidly between looks while maintaining a consistent visual language. The simplicity of the setup allowed the focus to remain on mood rather than mechanics.

The strength of these images lies in their quiet confidence. They do not seek attention through drama, but through stillness and presence. I am grateful that this body of work resonated beyond the studio walls and was published in the 2025 August issue of INCO Magazine and the July issue of LOOPLITE Magazine. Seeing these portraits find their place in print reinforces my belief in understated fashion photography and in the power of long-term creative relationships.
