Black-and-White Series with Chiara – Studio Work in Natural Light

A new photo series with model Chiara was created in my Zurich studio – reduced, direct, and powerful. The images were shot exclusively in natural daylight, lending the editorial a raw yet natural lighting mood. The shadows remain soft, yet defined enough to subtly emphasize contours and atmosphere. Especially in black and white, this creates a depth that makes each image stand out.

Chiara knows how to communicate with the camera. Her presence in front of the lens is strong yet subtle. Each frame carries an attitude – sometimes reserved, sometimes assertive – but always authentic. The minimalist setup with a simple dark background and few props places the focus entirely on what matters: expression, posture, and light.

The featured photo series thrives on the interplay between texture and transparencysilence and tensionstrength and vulnerability. Chiara’s ability to fully engage in the moment shaped the entire series. She plays with glances, body posture, and small gestures – everything feels intentional, yet never over-staged.

This photographic work is another step in my exploration of reduced, expressive black-and-white portrait photography.
